Your ASHI Membership: Are You Getting Full Value?

EDITED BY ASHI STAFF

Are you getting all you're entitled to as an ASHI member?
Here are a few benefits you might be missing:

Is your online profile up to date so potential clients can reach you?
ASHI uses the media to send consumers to ASHI.org and specifically to Find an Inspector. It is the responsibility of ASHI members to keep their profiles updated and complete so that Find an Inspector users can contact them. Log in and check your profile today.

Are you using the Customer Survey?

Don't forget to tell your clients about the ASHI Experience Customer Survey. They can win a $250 Home Depot® gift card and you can win a $50 card.

If you're interested in what your clients are saying, both your Online Consumer Satisfaction Surveys and Consumer Satisfaction Survey Cards can be viewed online in Members Only, under Experience Survey Results.

Have you downloaded the new Standards for Ancillary Services?
The new voluntary standards of business practices covering residential pool and spa inspections and predrywall inspections were made available to ASHI members in January.  Find them in the publications section of Members Only.

Have you recently checked on what's available from ASHI's Endorsed Program providers?
From insurance to prepaid legal services, endorsed programs are designed specifically for ASHI members. There are special rates and more for members, plus ASHI receives a small commission for every member who signs up with an endorsed provider. This revenue helps ASHI keep membership dues at the current rate, while continuing to provide membership value.  Something that's good for your business and good for ASHI …now that's worth considering.

Are you taking advantage of outstanding education at member rates?

Are you an ASHI Certified Inspector?
It's not easy to earn this designation, but well worth the effort. ASHI has met the rigorous requirements of the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) as a certifying body; therefore, you will have reached the top rung in the only home inspector organization able to offer a third-party-approved home inspector certification program.

Step up by completing the following:

  • Pass the National Home Inspector Examination and ASHI's Standards and Ethics module.

  • Have your inspection reports successfully verified for compliance with the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

  • Submit proof of performance of at least 250 fee-paid home inspections that meet or exceed the ASHI Standards of Practice.

Then you'll join the ranks of the ACIs who proudly display the ASHI logo, the widely-recognized mark of a professional in his or her field.
