Get Disaster-Inspection Certified: Take Part in the Recovery

SANDY BOURSEAU

To All ASHI Members,

The two contractors selected by FEMA to provide housing inspectors for Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts have asked ASHI for help.

Both Partnership for Response & Recovery (PaRR) and Parson Brinckerhoff Disaster Services (PB Disaster Services) need inspection/construction professionals, who  can be  certified quickly to conduct home recovery inspections for FEMA in all the areas devistated by the superstorm.

The need is enormous and is expected to grow as new states join the list of presidentially-declared disaster areas. FEMA has promised to expedite the certification process.

To get started, visit the  website of your choice:

Partnership for Response & Recovery (PaRR)

Parson Brinckerhoff Disaster Services (PB Disaster Services) (or call PB at 1-800-411-1177)

Once you've registered online, you'll be in the system and on your way to being paid to help in the long-term recovery.

PaRR and PB knew ASHI was the place to go for professional home inspectors, but some members in the disaster areas may not have electrical power or access to the Internet.  If you know of someone who would appreciate knowing about this opportunity to do inspections, please call or text them.

If you have questions, please contact Sandy Bourseau, ASHI director of communications,sandyb@ashi.org or 847-954-3179.
