It has been a pleasure to serve as your executive director for the past two and a half years. Traveling to chapter meetings and participating in InspectionWorld and many home inspector gatherings has given me an opportunity to learn about you, our members. This continues to motivate me to strive to achieve the goals that have been set for our organization.
Over the next few months, I'd like to share with you how some of these goals have or are being achieved. The goals are in no particular order and, in some cases, the report will be preliminary, but I hope this information encourages you to provide feedback on how you believe achieving these goals will benefit you.
One goal was to develop social networking/digital media and to integrate the ASHI website and other media, thereby enhancing ASHI as the source of information for the home inspection profession.
Today, the social networking and digital media (all three major ones: Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) have been fully developed, are functioning, are being administered through our public relations agency with the assistance of appropriate ASHI staff, and they will be upgraded and improved upon as necessary and applicable.
Also, an ASHI President Blog was created and integrated with the ASHI website and is available for use by the ASHI president.
Another goal was to finish revamping the ASHI website (ASHI.org and Homeinspector.org) by the end of the calendar year.
Homeinspector.org was revamped in look and content. This was completed several months ago. Currently, the ASHI.org portion of the site is being reviewed by the staff "website committee" and will be revamped as time and resources allow over the next several months and before IW '11.
It should be noted that the ASHI staff continually reviews and updates information on all the ASHI websites (Homeinspector.org, ASHI.org, InspectionWorld.org and ASHIReporter.org), and that the "homepage" was redesigned early this fiscal year.
