ASHI Loses Long-Time Active Member

At the age of 87, Martin E. Carrado spoke with pride of being ASHI’s oldest working member.

His daughter Katie Carrado Gregar informed ASHI that he died on March 9, 2009, still working as a home inspector as the owner of Martin Home Inspection.

Since joining the society in 1992, Martin was active in the Central New York Chapter, and he visited ASHI headquarters in Des Plaines on a number of occasions. After graduating from Rome Free Academy, he served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Seabees. In addition to inspecting homes, Martin was an investment advisor and had worked as a mason and salesman.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary, four daughters and their families.
